Raised Seventh-day Adventist, I had known of God. But as the loss mounted, I became angry, numb, and bitter. “Why would a loving God allow this?” I asked. I wrestled. I doubted. I almost became an atheist. And yet, God never let go. He drew me through dreams—some disturbing, some divine. In one dream, I walked with Jesus through a suffocating place that resembled hell. The souls were emaciated, disfigured—crying in pain. Then, I was shown a place of peace: blue skies, rolling hills, beds of white and yellow flowers. I hadn’t been there before, yet I knew I was home.- CARRIED THROUGH THE FIRE, By Ruth Omanya
