Why I Finally Shared My Story - Carried Through The Fire

Ruth Omanya, Author, Carried Through The Fire

The Beginning of Carried Through The Fire

For a long time, I carried my story quietly.

Not because it lacked meaning — but because some journeys are difficult to explain while you are still surviving them.

There were seasons of grief. Seasons of rebuilding. Seasons of questioning life, purpose, faith, loss, identity, and even my own existence. From the outside, people often see strength, composure, ambition, or creativity. But internally, there are battles no one sees.

What many people do not know is that this book began long before I ever wrote a single page.

Around Easter of 2011, I had a vivid dream where I heard a commanding voice say:

“I want you to advise people.”

Those words marked me.

For years, I carried them quietly without fully understanding what they meant. At times, I ignored them. At times, I questioned them. Life moved on — entrepreneurship, responsibilities, survival, ambition, grief, leadership, creativity, and the process of rebuilding life in America.

Yet somehow, that sentence never truly left me.

It followed me through different seasons of my life.

Then in 2025, something shifted.

After years of building RHO ECOLUXE as a physical retail business, I made the difficult decision to close the Block 37 location and pivot the brand online. What initially felt like an ending slowly became something else entirely: an act of obedience.

For the first time in years, I slowed down enough to confront everything I had carried internally.

The grief.

The questions.

The spiritual wrestling.

The search for truth.

The moments that shaped me.

The experiences I could no longer ignore.

And from that place, Carried Through The Fire was born.

This book was not written from a place of perfection.

It was written from survival.

It became a testimony of what it means to endure pain without losing the possibility of redemption. It became a reflection on identity, grief, truth, spiritual awakening, purpose, and the unexpected ways God reaches people even when they are far from Him.

I did not grow up imagining I would one day openly write about faith.

In fact, there was a time I wrestled deeply with belief itself.

That tension became part of the story.

I wanted this book to feel honest — not polished into something artificial or unreachable. I wanted readers, especially those who feel skeptical, lost, exhausted, wounded, spiritually disconnected, or simply searching for meaning, to encounter something real.

Not pressure.

Not performance.

Just truth.

This platform exists for that reason too.

Beyond books, I want this space to become a home for deeper conversations about faith, creativity, entrepreneurship, rebuilding, leadership, storytelling, healing, vision, and the process of becoming who God created us to be.

If you are here early, thank you.

Your support means more than you know.

This is only the beginning.
