I carried that grief with me to America — layered beneath ambition and survival. I wore gowns on runways. I studied at Harvard. I started businesses. On paper, I had it all. But my soul was unraveling. Isolation, pain, and the silence of unanswered questions led me to near-atheism. I didn’t stop believing because I wanted to sin — I stopped believing because I was drowning in grief and I couldn’t reconcile it with a loving God. - CARRIED THROUGH THE FIRE, By Ruth Omanya
